Air Traffic Services

The Air Traffic Services section approves and monitors the provision of ATS at 24 South African airports, as well as monitoring the licence validity of Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) and Air Traffic Service Officers (ATSO) at the various Air Traffic Service Units around the country.

The section also hosts the National Airspace Committee (NASCOM) which meets to review and make recommendations to the Director of Civil Aviation regarding appropriate changes to South African airspace which will improve the safety and efficiency of its use by the aviation community.
