Security Workshop

The Aviation safety and security department recently held a workshop with 18 main feeder airports, to discuss a wide range of issues pertaining to Security at these airports. 

These workshops are held on regular basis to address the following: 

  • To effectively deal with the security related issues at respective airports. 
  • Up dates on the amendments made to the regulations and designation of airports. 
  • The main objective is to ensure consistency within the provisions of the Civil Aviation Act.

 

Progress Report on the NASP 

The National Aviation Safety Plan had been finalized and has been submitted to the Minister of Transport for the necessary approval. This pan is an updated version the 1983 Plan. This plan is intended to be interim plan, as it does not fully incorporate Annex 17 of the Chicago convention, to achieve this it is necessary to amend the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, to provide for the ICAO requirements. This process is already far advanced.
