Applicability:                 All General Aviation Aircraft

Background:           The SB 643A dated 03/25/2004, for the Teledyne Continental Ignition Systems – TCM & Bendix aircraft magnetos and related equipment, part 4 C requires that  “ . .Magnetos must be overhauled or at the expiration of four years without regard to the accumulated operating hours since new or last overhaul.”

2.             In the absence of any SB for the Slick ignition systems the Commissioner has further ruled that a 500 hourly inspection as prescribed in the current revision of Slick Master Service Manual F1100 shall be carried out every four years.

3.             For the TCM and Bendix systems, the 500 hour inspection shall be carried out every four years as prescribed in the SB643A, dated 03/25/2004.
