60 Day extension to the time limit for completing PPL examinations
CAA approved test centres have recently experienced
internet connectivity problems as a result of cable theft. To assist candidates
and ATOs, the Director of Civil Aviation has granted holders of South African
Student Pilot licences a 60 day exemption from the requirements of Regulation
61.03.3, as amended, which requires a candidate to pass all the PPL theoretical
knowledge examinations within a period of 18 months from attaining the first
pass.
The
exemption is granted subject to compliance with the following requirements:
The applicant
must:
(a) Have
attained his/her first PPL theoretical knowledge examination pass after the 1st
of October 2008 and before the 1st of June 2010.
(b) The applicant’s 18 month period must include
the months of April or May 2010.
