Aviation Personnel Standards: Designated
Flight Examiner (DFE) and Flight Instructor (FI) Conferences
GENERAL

1. |
DFEs appointed in terms
of regulation 61.36 of the Civil Aviation Regulations,1997
are required to attend a DFE conference/workshop/seminar conducted by the
Civil Aviation Authority in the 12 months preceding their application for
re-designation. DFEs who do not attend a conference
will not be eligible for re-designation. |

The
SACAA will be hosting conferences for DFEs and for FIs as indicated below. |

3. |
The
aim of these conferences is to update DFEs and FIs on the requirements of Part 61 and to facilitate
discussion that will lead to the adherence to and raising
of training and testing standards. |

4. |
Please
note that there will be considerable overlap between the DFE and FI
conferences, and that the conferences held in the second half of the year
will be a repeat of those held in the first half. |

5. |
Due
to financial constraints, DFEs and FIs are only entitled to attend one conference per CAA
financial year. |
|
6. |
To
enable the CAA to make suitable catering and venue arrangements, delegates
must book at least a month in advance of the particular conference they wish
to attend. |
|
7. |
Cancellations must be made at least one week in advance
of the applicable conference. |
|
8. |
The
SACAA reserves the right to charge “NO SHOWS” the full conference fee. |

9. |
All
bookings must be made using the link 2012

10. |

bookings. |
