Appointment In The CAA Flight Operations Department
It is with
great pleasure that we inform you that Mr. Peter Volland
was recently appointed as the Senior Manager Flight Operations with effect from
November 1st, 2002.
Mr. Volland arrived in South Africa, from Germany, in 1974 as
Telefunken’s head of development, to introduce colour television to this
country. He is the holder of Electromechanical and Electronics Engineering
Diplomas.
He held the
posts of various directorships, General Manager & Technical Director of
Swazi Television and Radio Pty Ltd, Marketing and Sales Director of Mutronics Pty Ltd. He was the founder/owner of Flight
Training College of South Africa, where he introduced ISO 9002 to Flight
Training as well as the first JAA qualification to a South African Flight
Training Institute and now has over 14 years experience in the aviation
industry.
He successfully
completed courses in Business Management, Certification Airworthiness of
Selected Aircraft Systems, Aircrew Resource Management, Aircraft Systems and
Composites, and Training Communication & Presentation Skills.
Mr. Volland is a holder of a commercial pilot’s licence, as
well as a Grade II Flight Instructor with IR, Single and Multi-engine ratings.
He served as
SAAFI representative at the CAA Accident/ Incident review committee, the former
Aviation Resources Council and the Association of Aviation Training
Organisation’s.
