Senior Management appointment in the CAA Aircraft Department

 

 

image002It is with great pleasure that we wish to inform you that Mr. Obert Chakarisa was recently appointed as the Senior Manager: Airworthiness with effect from August 1, 2002.

 

Mr. Chakarisa has over 13 years experience in the aviation industry. He has been in the employ of the CAA since 1998 and he holds a Masters Degree in Aircraft Airworthiness (Aviation Safety) amongst many other aviation diplomas and certificates.

 

He commenced his aviation career in 1990 when he joined Aerotech as an apprentice aircraft engineer. Upon qualifying in 1995 he joined Foster Webb Aviation as a licensed Aircraft Engineer.

 

The following year he joined Nationwide Airlines as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. He left this airline in 1998 to join the CAA as an Airworthiness Inspector. In 2000 Mr. Chakarisa was offered a bursary by the French government to study for a Masters Degree in Aircraft Airworthiness.

 

Mr. Chakarisa has an impressive aircraft maintenance experience. He as worked on light, medium and heavy aircraft as an aircraft maintenance engineer.

 

He has also attended numerous maintenance course and has received various awards, diplomas and certificates in the maintenance domain.

 

Please be advised that Mr. Karl Greger is no longer acting as the HOD: Engineering.

 

Kindly ensure that all future correspondence to the CAA pertaining to Airworthiness matters is directed for the attention of Mr. Chakarisa.
