CAA and the workgroup on EMS regulations requested the industry to submit comments and proposals for amendments on regulations pertaining to Part 138.
This request was made through CARCOM and representatives of the relevant organisations and operators. It was also published on the CAA web site. The final date for submission of proposals was 30 June 2000.
The 4th meeting of the workgroup was held on 19 July 2000 at the CAA offices. All proposals and comments submitted to the workgroup were discussed at this meeting.
The workgroup commenced with reviewing the CARs. The CATS document will be reviewed as soon as the CARs have been completed. The new proposals will be published in the Government Gazette for comment when the review of both documents has been completed.
Subparts 1 to 4 have been completed to date. A copy of the proposed amendments has been attached as "Annexure A" for your information.
The next meeting of the workgroup will be on 7 August 2000. The CARs document should be completed by the end of this meeting.
