WELCOME
The meeting was opened by Mr. S. Machobane. He
thanked the industry in advance for their participation and expressed that
their input would be imperative for a successful workshop. He also added that this was the platform to
share with industry, the SACAA’s intentions and
current position. The SACAA and industry
needs to work together to ensure safety and security.

The following matters were raised by members from the
Industry:-
4.1. The status of AD 04-01 needs
clarification.
4.2. Issuing of aircraft registration to
be discussed with Merriam.
4.3. The AMO renewal reminder system is
not effective.
4.4. Mr. Bob Cohoe,
AME 2332 has not receive his license.
4.5. C of A for a training school was
not received.
4.6. Inefficiency of
switchboard. Lack of
communication.
4.7.
Excellet

and fixed wing logbooks in the eyes of the SACAA
4.2. How must AD’s
be filled in, in logbooks as there isn’t enough space?
4.3. Why are certificates issued with a
control number?

between the service delivery for pilot licenses versus

license to be approved.

requirement?
4.17. An AIC regarding transponders
was sent out. Who must feedback be addressed to as the
industry is against the decision?
4.18. The handling of MEL approvals
are taking too long. MEL’s
are also mislaid.
4.19. Why can’t a QA certify work?
4.20. Why does it take so long to
de-register an aircraft? What is the
procedure?
4.21. Why does the audit section not
notify the AMO’s about their renewals?
4.22. What is the current status with
regard to AD 04—01?
