OPEN FORUM
The following matters were raised by members from the
Industry:-
4.1.
Where
do we stand with regard to keeping a history of aircraft electronically and not
in logbook?
4.2.
In
more and more cases, documents submitted to the CAA are lost. The industry perception is that this is done
to buy time.
4.3.
Lack
of decision making powers. Is this the result
of uncertainty within the ranks of the CAA.
4.4.
Current
logbooks are not designed for large aircraft ad always leave
confusion regarding contents.
4.5.
Mr.
G. West stated that he has a serious concern that experienced people in Flight
Operations (CAA) concerned with simulator certification are being eased out and
lost purely in the interest of Affirmative Action statistics, without competent
people being in place to replace them.
4.6.
Is
there a program in place to identify deviations from ICAO annex 6 within our
current regulations and file differences?
If so when will it be completed?
If not, should there be seeing that we are the leaders in the region?
4.7.
ASB’s are recommended by the manufactures, many have no AD’s
attached to them. What is the CAA
opinion as to mandating asb’s? Where will this be published guidelines?
4.8.
Like
EGPWS, wind shear is recommended in ICAO annex 6 – any thoughts on timelines?
4.9.
Armed
cockpit doors are ICAO mandatory. Have
we filed a difference with ICAO?
4.10.
What
are the differences between major or minor modifications?
4.11.
What
experience is required for category X and W?
4.12.
What
is the current status of CATS-AMEL?
4.13.
Accreditation
of courses not listed by the CAA.
4.14.
Persons
accredited by the company (AME)
4.15.
List
activities that
require AMO approval and those that require MPT approval.
